Week 2!

Another week has come and gone in 5L!  Despite the heat, we were able to wrap up the various projects we have been working on, as well as complete two more STEM challenges.  As a class, we came up with our Chromebook agreement, brainstormed class jobs and began thinking about optimism and what it means to be an optimistic person.  Check out some of the happenings below:

* STEM Challenge: Bridges- students used 25 popsicle sticks and 3 feet of tape to create the strongest and most aesthetically pleasing bridge.  The top group's bridge held over 300 grams!

STEM CHALLENGE: Army Man Launchers- partners used various materials, such as popsicle sticks, rubber bands, spoons and cups, to create a catapult that would launch an army man figurine the farthest!

Ask your child about
*Chromebook Agreement
*Optimism
*Class Jobs/which one they will apply for
*Self Portraits
*Creative Writing Prompts
*Digital Citizenship Game
*The Honest Truth

Thank you to everyone who came to curriculum night.  It was great to meet you all and I look forward to seeing you more throughout the year.  Enjoy your weekend!
