Week 28!

Yet another busy week has come and gone.  Check out some of the happenings in 5H:

*Charlie and Ryan from 5D played guitar and drums for us.  They did an amazing job!

*Math: We played another game of trashketball to review for our unit 6 assessment!   We then began unit 7, focusing on area of rectangles with fractional side lengths as well as multiplication of mixed numbers.

*Literacy:  We've been working really hard with our argumentative essays and students are producing quality work.  This week, we focused on strong leads, powerful conclusions, being a critical editor, as well as unpacking evidence within our body paragraphs.  Ask your child about cake and frosting!

*Social Studies:  This week, students continued exploring the Revolutionary War through texts sets.  Some of the various text sets were African Americans, children, behind the scenes, spies and women.  We will be beginning our culminating project soon, in which students will be writing and acting in their very own play!

Enjoy the weekend!
