Week 8!

I don't know if you felt the same way, but this week certainly flew.  I can't believe how quickly it went!  Here are some questions to ask your child about their week:

  • What are possible themes of your book group book?
  • Which powerful conclusion techniques did you try with your personal narrative?
  • How do you think you did on your unit 2 math test?
  • Did you score a basket in Trashketball?
  • Which world did you visit during social studies this week?
  • What do you think the perspective of each world is?
  • What did you do with your reading buddies?
  • What are some words from your new spelling list?
  • What suggestions and compliments did you get from your writing partner?
  • What does a four star response to a math problem look like?

Our next math unit will focus on multiplying and dividing whole numbers/decimals.  If you would like your child to complete extra practice in conjunction with their math homework, here are a few options:

  • IXL: H #1-8, I #1-5, C #12-20, D #6-14
  • http://www.commoncoresheets.com/Decimals.php (scroll to mid page and there are different variations of worksheets for multiplying and dividing)
  • Have your child bring home their math notebook and practice problems with them

Enjoy the weekend!
