Week 34!

Lots of things were happening this week in 5H.  Take a look!

*Math:  5D and 5H completed their habitat projects and presented them to the class on Friday.  The varying math concepts that were used throughout each project were incredible!  We saw everything from circumference, area of a circle, line plots, geometry, fractions, decimals, metric/customary conversions, and expressions.

*Literacy:  Students have been working hard throughout our fantasy units.  This week we focused on learning alongside the main character, keeping track of problems that multiply as well as suspending our judgement about a character and inferring why certain traits exist.

*Science: This week we explored another mystery science adventure centered around mold and fungi!  We explored varying decomposers and created our very old mold terrariums.  Students chose different ways to test what inhibits mold growth and was promotes it.  We will be observing these over the next few weeks.

*Wellness Walk:

*Garden Project: On Thursday, each 5th grade classroom got to participate in a painting project for the new garden.
