Innovation Day!

Innovation Day is happening in 5L on Monday, November 21st!  

What is Innovation Day? 
It's a whole day when students get to choose what they want to study, decide on what
resources they will need for their learning, and design and plan a project that demonstrates
what they have learned.   

This week, I will guide students in developing higher level questions based on their interests.
Students will generate a list of materials they need from school and what they will need to
bring from home to complete their projects.  They will then plan their day, hour by hour,
in order to fit it all in!

During Innovation Day, teachers will facilitate, coach, question and guide.  
Students will research, learn, build, plan, and create!

The final step in our Innovation Day will be the presentation of projects at the end of the

day (and possibly the next day, too). The day will be documented through pictures, videos

and blog posts. Students will then reflect on their experience and their learning in order

to learn about themselves.

Throughout the week be sure to ask your child about the topics they are interested in,
the deep questions they can ask and what materials they may need to facilitate their learning.
Look for a planning sheet to come home by the end of the week!
